Vol. 527 No. 4

Written Answers. - Harbours and Piers.

Cecilia Keaveney

Question:

85 Cecilia Keaveney asked the Minister for the Marine and Natural Resources the reasons for the delay in having the new harbour regulations for Greencastle, County Donegal sanctioned; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [28836/00]

Donegal County Council has, in connection with its proposal to make bye-laws for Greencastle harbour, requested that the limits of the harbour be defined in accordance with section 91 of the Harbours Act, 1996. A proposed order defining the harbour limits has been prepared in consultation with the Office of the Parliamentary Counsel to the Government, taking account of the views of Donegal County Council, and is being forwarded to the local authority for any final comments it may wish to make. The order will be finalised as soon as possible after the views of the local authority are received.
