Question:

140 Mr. R. Bruton asked the Minister for Health and Children if he has made provision in his Estimates to change the £25 accident and emergency charge; and the proposed new level for this charge. [28903/00]

The 2001 abridged Book of Estimates published on 16 November has no provision for an increase in the statutory charge of £25 for attendance at accident and emergency departments where a person has not been referred by a medical practitioner.
