UN Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination, Referral to Joint Committee: Motion.

I move:

That the proposal that Dáil Éireann approve the terms of the United Nations International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination, done at New York on the 21st day of December 1965, and the terms of the amendments to Article 8 of the Convention, adopted on the 20th day of December 1991 by the State Parties to the Convention at their Fourteenth Meeting and endorsed under Article 23 of the Convention on the 16th day of December 1992 by the UN General Assembly at its Forty-seventh Session by Resolution 47-111, copies of which were laid before Dáil Éireann on 6th December, 2000, be referred to the Joint Committee on Foreign Affairs, in accordance with paragraph (2) (a)(v) of the Orders of Reference of that Committee, which shall, not later than 15th December 2000, send a message to the Dáil in the manner prescribed in Standing Order 79B, and Standing Order 79A(2) shall accordingly apply.
