Vol. 528 No. 1

Written Answers. - Visa Applications.

John McGuinness

Question:

356 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the progress regarding an application made to the Department in the name of a person (details supplied) in County Carlow; and if permission can be granted for the person to return home to visit family and to re-enter the country to pursue a court case. [29268/00]

I am pleased to inform the Deputy that the person in question has recently been granted permission to remain in the State on condition that he is in a position to maintain himself financially without access to public funds. Visa required nationals who have permission to remain and who wish to travel outside the State during their stay here can apply for a re-entry visa at the consular section of the Department of Foreign Affairs.
