714 Mr. Neville asked the Minister for Health and Children the number of cases of meningococcal infection reported in each health board region in the year 2000. [2209/01]
The number of cases of bacterial meningitis, including meningococcal septicaemia, notified to the National Disease Surveillance Centre in 2000 was 579, of which 501 cases related to meningococcal infection. This data is provisional and is currently being validated by the National Disease Surveillance Centre. The breakdown of the number of cases for each health board in the year 2000 is as follows:
