Vol. 529 No. 1

Written Answers. - Passport Applications.

Bernard Allen

Question:

1019 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the reasons the passport of a person (details supplied) in County Cork has not been returned to her since it was sent to his Department in October 2000; and the reason the passport was taken from her in the first place. [1413/01]

The passport of the Irish national in question was forwarded to this Department in connection with a residency application made on behalf of the person's non-national spouse. Upon examination of the passport, it was noted that the document had been seriously defaced and, following consultation with the Passport Office, was forwarded to that office for further investigation as appropriate.

Question No. 1020 answered with Question No. 977.
