1272 Mr. Penrose asked the Minister for Education and Science if he has given consideration to an application by a school in County Westmeath for a resource teacher for a person, details supplied; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [2122/01]
My Department has sanctioned four hours per week resource teaching support for the child in question. In addition, my Department recently sanctioned an allocation of special needs assistant support for this child. I understand that the school authorities are currently seeking a suitable person to deliver the special needs assistant service.
