Vol. 529 No. 1

Written Answers. - Schools Building Projects.

John Bruton

Question:

1310 Mr. J. Bruton asked the Minister for Education and Science if he will provide a detailed progress report in relation to the provision of an extension to Ratoath national school, County Meath; his views on whether this project should be treated as urgent; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [2447/01]

My Department recently authorised the board of management to appoint a design team to initiate architectural planning for additional accommodation. However, the planning section of my Department is currently exploring the feasibility of the recent proposal from the school authorities to provide separate junior and senior primary schools in Ratoath on the current school site. The school authorities will be advised of the result of these deliberations at the earliest possible opportunity.
