Question:

1316 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Education and Science the current position in relation to the provision of extra facilities required at Maynooth post-primary school, Maynooth, County Kildare; if it is anticipated that all requirements will be met at an early date; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [2503/01]

My Department's planning and building unit has recently given approval to County Kildare Vocational Education Committee to prepare and submit stage two, outline sketch scheme, for the proposed extension at Maynooth post-primary school.

At this early stage, it is not possible to say when the extra facilities will be provided.

Question:

1317 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Education and Science the position in relation to the provision of extra facilities required at Scoil Uí Riada, Kilcock, County Kildare; if it is anticipated that all requirements will be met at an early date; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [2504/01]

Architectural planning for the provision of permanent accommodation for Gaelscoil Uí Riada, Kilcock is under way at present.

It is not possible to say at this point when construction will commence as the rate of progress depends on factors such as the complexity and size of the project, the time required to undertake architectural planning, the volume of other projects being dealt with by the design team and my Department's building unit, the period of time required for the granting of planning permission and obtaining a fire certificate, the outcome of the tender competition and the procurement, where relevant, of bonds, insurance and tax clearance by prospective contractors.

The school authorities will be kept informed of developments.

Question:

1318 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Education and Science the position in relation to the provision of extra facilities required at Scoil Uí Fhiaigh, Maynooth, County Kildare; if it is anticipated that all requirements will be met at an early date; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [2505/01]

My Department has agreed to provide temporary accommodation for Scoil Uí Fhiaigh. The question of providing permanent accommodation is dependent on the acquisition of a site. Until such time as a site has been acquired, it will not be possible to commence architectural planning for the new school nor is it possible to say at this point when the new accommodation will be available.
