Vol. 529 No. 3

Written Answers. - Special Educational Needs.

John Browne

Question:

171 Mr. Browne (Carlow-Kilkenny) asked the Minister for Education and Science if his Department has made any inquiries regarding the programme of exercises designed for astronauts which according to reports has resulted in a 97% success rate for those suffering from dyslexia. [2884/01]

I am aware of the work being carried out in the treatment centre in Kenilworth, Warwickshire, to which the Deputy refers. I believe that the therapeutic approach of the centre is being subjected to rigorous research under the leadership of Professor David Reynolds of Exeter University. My Department will keep abreast of developments in the matter.
