99 Mr. G. Mitchell asked the Minister for Health and Children in relation to his Department's recent advertisement seeking consultants for casualty hospitals offering immediate contracts up to 31 December 2001, the number of applications which have been received; if interviews have commenced; and the date on which he expects the first appointments to be made. Minister for Health and Children (Mr. Martin):

I assume the Deputy is referring to the advertisements placed recently by the health boards in the national newspapers for accident and emergency consultants. I have asked the boards to write directly to the Deputy with the information requested.
