Vol. 530 No. 2

Written Answers. - Asylum Seekers' Accommodation.

Seymour Crawford

Question:

126 Mr. Crawford asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if his attention has been drawn to the fact that accommodation has been offered some months ago to accommodate asylum seekers by persons (details supplied) in County Meath; the progress being made in the discussions regarding the use of the premises in the immediate or long-term; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [3508/01]

I can confirm that accommodation has been offered to the Directorate for Asylum Support Services to accommodate asylum seekers by the person in question.

The Directorate is pursuing this offer as part of its overall strategy to accommodate asylum seekers at locations throughout the country. An inspection of the property will be carried out in the near future.
