Question:

247 Mr. Shatter asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if he will categorise the 7,500 offences detected under Operation Oíche since it began in the Dublin metropolitan region on 9 October 2000; the number of such offences which have resulted in prosecutions; and the number of prosecutions which have resulted from street violence. [3830/01]

The information sought by the Deputy is set out in the following table. Some offences are still being investigated, and the law officer's directions are awaited in a number of others. The information refers to the period 9 October 2000 to 31 December 2000.
