Vol. 530 No. 3

Written Answers. - Schools Building Projects.

Seamus Healy

Question:

289 Mr. Healy asked the Minister for Education and Science the position regarding the proposed upgrading and extension of Mount Bruis national school; the extent of the work; if additional land will be required; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [3853/01]

My Department has received an application for improvement works from the management authorities of Mount Bruis national school.

Because of the large number of applications to my Department for grant aid in respect of capital works, delays in the processing of individual projects are inevitable. However, each application is dealt with as quickly as possible having regard to the priority of the project and the level of the annual allocation of funding for school buildings.

My Department's building unit will contact the management authorities of Mount Bruis national school as soon as it is in a position to progress the matter further.
