Vol. 530 No. 3

Written Answers. - School Accommodation.

Michael Bell

Question:

290 Mr. Bell asked the Minister for Education and Science if he has received a report from the board of management of Collon National School, County Louth and from his area inspector regarding inadequate conditions, in particular toilet facilities and accommodation; his views on whether a replacement school is required; the plans he has in this regard; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [3854/01]

An application for improvements and ancillary accommodation from the school in question has been received in my Department. The application is being examined in the planning and building unit of my Department at present, in conjunction with an Inspector's report in the matter. On completion of this examination, a decision will be made on how best the accommodation requirements of the school can be addressed. The board of management will be advised of the decision at the earliest possible date.
