181 Mr. Stagg asked the Minister for Education and Science if a request has been received from Ballycane National School, Naas, County Kildare, for the provision of a classroom assistant for a person (details supplied) in County Kildare who will be starting school in September 2001; and if he will make a statement on the matter. My Department has recently received an application for special needs assistant support for the child in question. This application is currently being investigated by my Department's inspectorate. When the inspectorate has reported, my Department will be in touch with the school authorities on this matter.
