Question:119 Ms Cooper-Flynn asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development the reason a person (details supplied) in County Mayo has not received payment under the farm retirement scheme since July 2000. [4211/01]
Written Answers. - Farm Retirement Scheme.
The person named qualified for the early retirement pension by leasing his lands to two farming transferees. However, these leases expired in 1999 and as my Department had not been provided with evidence of their having been extended or renewed, payment of the pension was suspended.
The participant was made aware of the position and my Department has been in contact with his solicitors with a view to resolving issues that are still outstanding.
