Vol. 530 No. 5

Written Answers. - Departmental Offices.

Gay Mitchell

Question:

140 Mr. G. Mitchell asked the Minister for Social, Community and Family Affairs the proposed office or utility locations or relocations of his Department, or consideration being given to such locations or relocations in the constituency of Dublin South Central; the timetable for these changes; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [4302/01]

My Department has three offices in the Dublin South Central constituency. It has local offices at Thomas Street, Dublin 8, and Ballyfermot and a social welfare inspectors' office at Sundrive Road, Crumlin.

It is proposed to relocate the inspectors at Sundrive Road, Crumlin, to a new local office and regional headquarters, currently under construction at a site between Bishop Street and Kevin Street. This new local office, to be known as Bishop Square, will also amalgamate existing local offices at Werburgh Street and Victoria Street. This development is due to be completed in July 2001.
