Vol. 531 No. 1

Written Answers. - Former Prisoners.

Tony Gregory

Question:

155 Mr. Gregory asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform when special projects to assist ex-prisoners are being established in specific community areas (details supplied); and if statistics on the number of current prisoners with home addresses from that community could be made available to the project. [5080/01]

My Department has not received a proposal or application for funding for a special project for former prisoners in the area indicated by the Deputy. If such a proposal is received, and is considered appropriate to the work of my Department, it will be considered in the normal way.

At present the number of prisoners in custody whose home address falls within the area in question is 62.
