Vol. 531 No. 4

Written Answers. - Child Care Services.

Jack Wall

Question:

153 Mr. Wall asked the Minister for Health and Children the position with regard to the report on attention deficit hyperactivity disorder; if his attention has been drawn to the fact that no contact has been made with the INCADDS group or families of ADHD sufferers in relation to the report; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [6228/01]

I am informed by the department of public health of the Mid-Western Health Board that the report on the prevalence and treatment of ADD-ADHD is at draft stage and that there has already been input from the Limerick parents group. I understand that further consultation is planned before the report is finalised. I am aware that it is intended to make contact with the Irish National Council of Attention Deficit Disorder Support Groups – INCADDS – in the near future. A number of families of ADHD sufferers will also be contacted for their views.
