Vol. 531 No. 5

Written Answers. - Decentralisation Programme.

Brendan Kenneally

Question:

114 Mr. Kenneally asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform his views on whether the remainder of the Land Registry office should be decentralised to County Waterford; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [6351/01]

The Land Registry office in Waterford is a constituent office of the Land Registry dealing with all aspects of registration for Counties Cork, Kerry, Limerick, Waterford, Tipperary, Laois, Offaly, Carlow, Kilkenny and Wexford.

I have no plans at present to decentralise the headquarters of the Land Registry. The Deputy will be aware, however, of the Government policy on the decentralisation of Government offices. The question of which Government offices will be decentralised is a matter to be decided by the Government.
