Question:

131 Mr. Higgins (Mayo) asked the Minister for Tourism, Sport and Recreation the number of foreign visitors who visited here from 1995 to 2000 inclusive and the country of origin in each case. [6366/01]

Figures for 2000 are not yet available but provisional estimates show that approximately 6.3 million overseas visitors came to Ireland during the year. Final figures will be available mid-way through the current year.

The following table outlines Bord Fáilte visitor estimates and country of origin for the years 1995-1999.
