Vol. 531 No. 5

Written Answers. - Special Educational Needs.

Bernard J. Durkan

Question:

139 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Education and Science if extra tuition can be given to a person (details supplied); if, in view of her special needs, she will be reassessed and provision made accordingly; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [6385/01]

I assure the Deputy that the needs of the pupil in the school in question will be fully considered. My Department's inspectorate has been asked to investigate the special needs of the pupil referred to by the Deputy. As soon as the inspector's report is received in my Department, the matter will be fully considered and officials of my Department will be in touch with the school authorities.
