I confirmed the Smithfield – Queen Street – King Street North – Haymarket Area Compulsory Purchase (Development) Order, 1997 without modifications on 19 December 2000. The stated purpose of the order is for the development of the Smithfield, Queen Street, King Street North and Haymarket areas.
