Vol. 532 No. 1

Written Answers. - Consultant Appointments.

Seamus Healy

Question:

211 Mr. Healy asked the Minister for Health and Children when he will approve the application by the South Eastern Health Board for a third post of consultant obstetrician-gynaecologist at St. Joseph's Hospital, Clonmel, County Tipperary. [6773/01]

The provision of obstetric-gynaecological services at the hospital is a matter for the South Eastern Health Board in the first instance. The board has submitted an application for the approval of a third consultant obstetrician-gynaecologist post at St. Joseph's Hospital, Clonmel. The post, which is subject to approval by Comhairle na nOspidéal, is being considered in the context of available resources and the priority accorded to it by the board.
