Vol. 532 No. 1

Written Answers. - Hospital Waiting Lists.

Breeda Moynihan-Cronin

Question:

212 Mrs. B. Moynihan-Cronin asked the Minister for Health and Children the length of time children have to wait for an appointment to see an ear nose and throat consultant for tonsils at Tralee General Hospital; the number on the waiting list; the proposals he has to deal with the backlog; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [6774/01]

The provision of services in this instance is the statutory responsibility of the Southern Health Board. I have, therefore, asked the chief executive officer at the board to look into the issues raised by the Deputy and reply directly to her in this regard.
