230 Mr. Hogan asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the amount of Traveller accommodation that has been provided for each year from 1997 to 2000 and if he will make a statement on the matter. [6440/01]

The number of units of Traveller specific accommodation provided in each year from 1997 to 2000, is contained in the following tabular statement :

1997	94	112
1998	33	89
1999	30	49
2000	65	103

In the same period the number of Traveller families living in standard local authority housing increased from 1,817 to 2,110.
