Vol. 532 No. 1

Written Answers. - Social Welfare Offices.

Róisín Shortall

Question:

266 Ms Shortall asked the Minister for Social, Community and Family Affairs if, further to Parliamentary Question No. 166 of 10 October 2000, he will outline the steps taken to improve facilities for customers at the social welfare local office in Finglas, Dublin 11, including the installation of toilets; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [6566/01]

The position with regard to the provision of toilet facilities at the social welfare local office in Finglas is as stated on 10 October 2000. The service provided to customers of the office is fast and efficient and because of the limited time spent by customers in the local office it was not considered necessary to provide toilet facilities.

The provision of additional services through Finglas local office is being considered and an enhanced information service to families is currently being piloted in the office. The question of toilet facilities will be considered in the context of any change or expansion of services which may be undertaken in that regard.
