Vol. 532 No. 1

Written Answers. - Cattle Testing.

Michael Creed

Question:

120 Mr. Creed asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development if he will arrange to return cattle identity cards to a person (details supplied) in County Cork who has had two clear herd tests; and if he will also arrange for immediate payment of suckler cow and hardship grants to this person. [6733/01]

I understand that the herd which belongs to the person in question underwent the first reactor retest on 27 January 2001, which reported the herd to be clear of infection. The herd is listed for a second reactor retest on 25 March 2001. In the event that this test reports the herd to be clear of infection, the herdowner will have the passports-cattle identity cards returned to him. The person named was paid his full entitlement of £2,063.46 under the 2000 suckler cow premium scheme on 22 February 2001. A hardship grant of £200 has been processed and the person in question should receive this payment shortly.
