Trevor Sargent

Question:

578 Mr. Sargent asked the Minister for Tourism, Sport and Recreation his views on the viability of the new national sports stadium; and if the Football Association of Ireland maintains its present position of building a stand alone Eircom Park. [7560/01]

The original PricewaterhouseCoopers feasibility study provided that the stadium would be viable on a base case of six major events per annum. As the Deputy will no doubt be aware, I am delighted that the FAI has now decided to become involved with the Stadium Ireland project.
