71 Ms O'Sullivan asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs if he will sponsor a motion at the 57th session of the Human Rights Commission requesting the appointment of a special rapporteur on Algeria to conduct an inquiry into the major massacres of the past ten years; if he will further propose an immediate mandate for the special rapporteur on torture and extra-judicial executions to investigate the reported continuing use of widespread torture by the Algerian authorities; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
