Vol. 533 No. 2

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

John V. Farrelly

Question:

84 Mr. Farrelly asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development the reason a subsidy payment has not been made to a person (details supplied) in County Meath; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [8453/01]

The person named applied for special beef premium on 46 animals on 5 January 2000.

One of the animals applied on was slaughtered during the retention period. As this was not notified to the special beef premium unit, the animal was rejected from the application leading to a reduced payment on the remaining 45 animals.

Following an appeal the reduction penalty was removed. A balancing payment of £95.98 will issue shortly.

Michael Ring

Question:

85 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development when a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will receive cattle headage and suckler cow premium for 2000. [8515/01]

The 2000 area aid application for the person named was selected for inspection in accordance with EU regulations. This inspection has taken some time to complete as it involved two visits to the holding. The final result of this inspection is expected to be returned to the area aid unit within the next ten days and will then be processed without delay. Any payments due will then be made as soon as possible.
