Vol. 533 No. 3

Written Answers. - Turbary Rights.

John Perry

Question:

138 Mr. Perry asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development if he will intervene on behalf of a person (details supplied) in County Sligo and ensure that he is allocated turbary rights in the estate in question; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [8897/01]

The bogland in question is being disposed of under the terms of section 8 of the Irish Land Commission Dissolution Act, 1992. Under the terms of this section an advertisement was placed in the local newspaper inviting interested parties to apply. A scheme has been drawn up recommending allotment of plots to various persons. The person named was not among the successful applicants. It would not be appropriate for me to intervene.
