Vol. 533 No. 3

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

John Perry

Question:

139 Mr. Perry asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development if a decision has been made on the headage payment of a persons (details supplied) in view of the fact that all documentation has been submitted in relation to his suckler quota; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [8898/01]

Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development (Mr. Walsh): The person named applied for premium on two cows under the 2000 suckler cow premium scheme and for two beef cows and 15 other animals under the 2000 cattle headage scheme on 25 May 2000. Under the regulations governing the suckler cow premium scheme, eligibility is determined by the number of quota rights held by an applicant for the year in question. There is no record of the person named holding such a quota or having made an application for quota and consequently there is no entitlement to payment under this scheme. The person named was paid his full entitlement of £384.00 on 15 November, 2000 under the 2000 cattle headage scheme.
