334 Ms Shortall asked the Minister for Education and Science the plans his Department has to examine and progress to the design stage the application for the amalgamation of Scoil Mhuire and Scoil Eoin, Rathstewert, Athy, County Kildare; the reasons for the delay in progressing this case and if he will make a statement in the matter. Agreement in principle has been reached to amalgamate Scoil Mhuire and Scoil Eoin, Athy, County Kildare.

An analysis of the existing accommodation at the schools will be undertaken shortly by officials of my Department. Thereafter arrangements to redress any deficit of accommodation will be put in place.
