Vol. 533 No. 3

Written Answers. - Light Rail Office.

Olivia Mitchell

Question:

103 Ms O. Mitchell asked the Minister for Public Enterprise if the Light Rail office or CIE can dispose of land, acquired under a light rail order from a local authority, for a purpose other than that for which the order was granted. [8639/01]

There is no legal impediment to CIE subsequently disposing of lands acquired compulsorily under the Transport (Dublin Light Rail) Act, 1996. The purpose to which such disposed land is put is a matter for the purchaser to determine in accordance with the planning laws.
