Question:159 Mr. Ellis asked the Minister for Justice., Equality and Law Reform if the drugs squad set up in the Sligo-Leitrim District will be fully staffed and financed; and if this squad will be permanent. [9141/01]

I am informed by the Garda authorities, who are responsible for the detailed allocation of personnel and resources to individual areas, that the drug unit based in the Sligo-Leitrim division has a current manpower strength of eight – all ranks – and operates on a permanent basis.
