Question:187 Mr. Hogan asked the Minister for Finance when work will commence on the flood relief scheme in County Kilkenny; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [9495/01]
Written Answers. - Flood Relief.
Tenders for the appointment of a civil engineering contractor for the Kilkenny flood relief scheme were issued on 7 March 2001 for return on 12 April 2001. Following requests from the contractors the date for return of tenders has been extended to 26 April 2001. Assessment and examination of tenders will be completed by late May with a contractor being appointed in early June. Works on site will commence by the end of June 2001 and are scheduled for completion over a three year period.
