Vol. 534 No. 2

Written Answers. - School Support Services.

Brian O'Shea

Question:

144 Mr. O'Shea asked the Minister for Education and Science the proposals he has to provide a teacher's aid for a person (details supplied) in County Waterford; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [10308/01]

My Department's inspectorate has been in contact with the authorities of the school mentioned by the Deputy to clarify the precise needs of the child in question. I understand that a member of the inspectorate will also be meeting the school principal and the parents of the child in question very shortly to discuss this matter further. Once the inspector has reported, my Department will be in touch with the school authorities in relation to support services for the child in question.
