Question:140 Mr. Higgins (Mayo) asked the Minister for Finance if An Post will be permitted to administer the new national savings scheme announced by the Minister in the budget. [10683/01]
Written Answers. - National Savings Scheme.
In section 33 of the Finance Act, 2001, I have provided, inter alia, for a range of persons who can be the manager of a special savings incentive account. These include An Post. While An Post is not obliged to participate in the new savings scheme, the NTMA has confirmed to me that it will be making a SSIA product(s) available through An Post.
