156 Mr. Connaughton asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the reason the sewerage scheme at Kilkerrin, Ballinasloe, County Galway, has not commenced; the timescale for commencement; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [10922/01]
Kilkerrin sewerage scheme was approved for funding under the Rural Towns and Villages Initiative in 1999. Contract documents received from Galway County Council last week are under examination in my Department and will be dealt with as quickly as possible. Once the contract documents have been approved the council will be free to seek tenders for the work.
