247 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development the total number and value of animals slaughtered in the course of the beef destruct scheme to date; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [12395/01]

Up to Friday, 27 April 209,424 animals had been slaughtered under the purchase for destruction scheme. The cost of purchase of these animals is estimated at £124 million.
