Vol. 535 No. 1

Written Answers - Cancer Treatment Services.

Brian O'Shea

Question:

284 Mr. O'Shea asked the Minister for Health and Children the discussions he has had with the South-Eastern Health Board regarding the provision of a radiotherapy unit at Waterford Regional Hospital; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [11424/01]

As the Deputy is aware, I established an expert working group on radiotherapy services last year to examine the appropriate further development of such services. The provision of additional services for radiotherapy treatment will be considered in the context of the report of the expert working group which is expected in the coming months.
