289 Mr. Connaughton asked the Minister for Health and Children the reason a grant payment has not been made by the Western Health Board to persons (details supplied) in County Galway under the special housing aid for the elderly scheme; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [11514/01]
As the Deputy is aware, the special housing aid scheme for the elderly in the Galway area is administered by the Western Health Board on behalf of the Department of the Environment and Local Government. I have asked the chief executive officer of the board to investigate this matter and reply directly to the Deputy as a matter of urgency.
