Vol. 535 No. 1

Written Answers - Accident and Emergency Services.

Tony Gregory

Question:

294 Mr. Gregory asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will request a report from the authorities at the Mater Hospital, Dublin 7, outlining the reasons that patients are left on trolleys for prolonged periods in the accident and emergency department; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [11539/01]

Services for eligible patients at the Mater Hospital are provided under an arrangement with the Eastern Regional Health Authority. My Department has therefore asked the regional chief executive of the authority to investigate the issue raised by the Deputy and to reply directly to him.
