Written Answers - Mental Health Services.

Seán Haughey

Question:

295 Mr. Haughey asked the Minister for Health and Children if his attention has been drawn to the fact that there are no hospital facilities available in the Northern Area Health Board, area 7, for the treatment of a mentally handicapped person (details supplied) in Dublin 9 with a learning disability who experienced a psychiatric disorder; if he will intervene to rectify this situation; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [11586/01]

As the provision of services to persons with an intellectual disability in the Dublin region is the responsibility of the Eastern Regional Health Authority in the first instance, I have forwarded your inquiry to the chief executive of the authority for attention and direct reply.
