Vol. 535 No. 1

Written Answers - Medical Cards.

Bernard Allen

Question:

302 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Health and Children the reason the Southern Health Board refused to accept a completed application form for a medical card from a person (details supplied) in County Cork on 6 April 2001. [11612/01]

The issue of determination of eligibility of persons for medical cards is a matter for the chief executive officer of the relevant health board, in this case, the Southern Health Board. I have contacted the chief executive officer on behalf of the person named and asked that he has the matter investigated and that he would contact the Deputy directly.
