Vol. 535 No. 1

Written Answers - Hospital Services.

Tony Killeen

Question:

345 Mr. Killeen asked the Minister for Health and Children if the project team on Ennis General Hospital has completed its report; when the report will be published; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [12073/01]

The provision of services to patients in Ennis General Hospital is the responsibility of the Mid-Western Health Board.

As the Deputy will be aware, I have approved the establishment of a project team to prepare detailed briefs for identified priority developments at the hospital.

The board is in the process of preparing a document which will assess the needs of the hospital and outline the functional content of the development relative to the hospital site and its operational relationship with the mid-western regional hospital. When this document is received the project team will complete the writing of the design brief for the developments. I will keep the Deputy informed of developments.
