Vol. 535 No. 1

Written Answers - Ambulance Service.

Tony Killeen

Question:

346 Mr. Killeen asked the Minister for Health and Children the plans the Western Health Board has for the upgrading of the ambulance service in the east Clare area; when the new station will be constructed; if it is provided for under the national development plan; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [12075/01]

Responsibility for the provision of ambulance services in the east Clare region rests with the Mid-Western Health Board.

Funding indicated to all health boards, including the Mid-Western Health Board, under the national development plan will enable substantial improvements to be made to physical infrastructures in both the acute and non-acute health services.

The Deputy will appreciate that it is a matter for the Mid-Western Health Board to prioritise and progress its capital development projects within the national development plan funding indicated to it and in the context of the prioritisation of its service requirements.
