Vol. 535 No. 1

Written Answers - Hospital Services.

Breeda Moynihan-Cronin

Question:

358 Mrs. Moynihan-Cronin asked the Minister for Health and Children the reason an elderly person (details supplied) in County Kerry has to wait for two years to be admitted to Cork University Hospital for a surgical procedure; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [12170/01]

The provision of services in the case to which the Deputy is referring is, in the first instance, the responsibility of the Southern Health Board.

I have, therefore, asked the chief executive officer of the board to examine the matter and reply directly to the Deputy as a matter of urgency.
